Hancock County Welcome Center Reception

Each of the Welcome Centers located at the Interstate entrances to Mississippi have been renovated and installed with a collection of original artwork by Mississippi Artists. This is a permanent display of work purchased by the state and curated by Pacesetter Gallery in Florence, MS. Jerrod’s painting, “Summer Morning on Front Beach, Ocean Springs” is hanging in the Hancock County Welcome Center located in Pearlington, MS, just south of I-10, next to the Infinity Science Center. An opening reception to celebrate the collection and renovation is scheduled for this Thursday, May 7, from 10am to 12pm. The public is invited to attend.

Residency Schedule

Jerrod’s residency at the Ohr-Okeefe Museum will include several opportunities for the public to be involved beginning with an open studio this Saturday, March 28, from 1-3pm. Artist in Residence at the Ohr-O'Keefe Museum

From March through June, Jerrod will be an artist-in-residence at the Frank Gehry designed Ohr-O'Keefe Museum in Biloxi.  With a studio space on campus he will work on a progressive exhibition of drawings and paintings inspired by the buildings, ceramics, and natural setting of the museum.  Stay tuned for more info about workshops, exhibitions, and open studios during his residency.

New Exhibition at Palmette

“Wild at Heart: The Dwarf Palmetto”, is a new exhibition of drawings and paintings by Jerrod opening in March at Palmette Gallery in downtown Ocean Springs. He has been inspired by the dramatic nature of the palmetto fronds and their iconic representation of life on the gulf coast since moving to Ocean Springs in 2016. The opening reception will be Thursday, March 5, from 5-7pm. Palmette is located at 424 Washington Ave, inside the Springs Hotel and just next door to the Walter Anderson Museum of Art.
