Jerrod and local artist William Goodman will be featured artists at Dinners a l'Art, a fundraiser put on by the board of trustees of the MS Museum of Art to raise money for the museum. This dinner is one of six dinners where artists are paired with chefs for an evening of art and good food. Jerrod and William's dinner is tonight, May 3, at 6:30 at Gallery 119 in downtown Jackson.

On Tuesday, November 8, 2011, Jerrod will be speaking at the meeting of the National Exchange Club in Ridgeland, Mississippi about his artwork and professional history. The National Exchange Club is a service club whose primary focus is the prevention of child abuse.

Jerrod has received a Mississippi Arts Commission Visual Arts Fellowship for 2012. This grant is a portion of the $1.5 million in grants the Commission will award in 2011-2012 and will be used to further Jerrod's career as a full-time artist. The grants are made possible by continued funding from the Mississippi State Legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts.

Jerrod's exhibition of his new body of work "Southern Gothic" is opening at Gallery 119 in downtown Jackson, MS on April 7th. In this exhibition Jerrod continues his use of contemporary realism and narrative in drawings and paintings. Building on his exhibition last April "Songs of Innocence/Songs of Experience", it is a further exploration of the use of oil painting on handmade paper.

Jerrod's exhibition "Expressing a Tradition: Portraits and Landscapes" is now hanging at the Mississippi Arts Commission space in the Woolfolk building in downtown Jackson. This exhibition showcases recent oil portraits as well as a selection of a new series of paintings of the Pearl River in Jackson. The show will be on display until the end of October with a reception on October 7th from 2:00-4:00 pm.
